 | It started in 1993, being cast as Daddy Bear in Hansel and Gretel: after that, the only way was up!
Involvement in numerous plays, comedies, dramas, farces, music halls, pantomimes and comedy reviews followed, either performing, directing, doing technical things like driving the lighting or sound desks or simply pottering away backstage, building, hammering or painting.
I wrote my first panto script for the group in 1996 and over the years others followed, all performed uncomplainingly, and with great professionalism by the Entertainers. Spurred on by flattering comments, I found a publisher who was prepared to launch my words onto an unsuspecting world, and so having premiered in Crondall and expecting nothing more, it is unnerving and sometimes surreal to find these shows being performed across England, Ireland and Scotland and in such diverse places as Canada and Qatar! |
