Based upon an Ealing comedy, ‘The Titfield Thunderbolt' is a quaint, light hearted play set in a small village duringthe 1950's.
On hearing of the impending closure of the localrailway line, Vernon Crump sees an opportunity to start up his ownomnibus service. However, some of the locals decide to operateand manage the railway line themselves. Enlisting the help of a wealthy villager and an old railwayman, they have to overcome obstacles to convince the rest of the village they are capable, whilst Vernon Crump is determined to ruin their plans. |  |
